HIFU BODY
Hifu Ultraformer III uses high-intensity ultrasound to heat targeted areas, creating a coagulating effect on the deeper layers of the skin. We use multi-depth cartridges to directly transfer ultrasound energy into the deeper layers of the treated area to trigger collagen renewal and fat breakdown.
MMFU (Mirco Macro Focused Ultrasound) technology transfers an equal distribution of ultrasound energy into the subcutaneous tissue, getting the temperatures to 65-75°C. This heat causes fat reduction by shrinking stubborn fat cells that are difficult to burn off, even through strenuous exercises and weight-loss regimens. Although the temperature is high for the break down of fat, the top layer of the skin is not affected, so there is no burning or discomfort after the procedure.
The results from the first HIFU treatment can be an immediate visible tightening and lifting effect. The treatment continues to work for up to several months, further stimulating your collagen production. Patients will see long-lasting lifting and tightening and a reduction of fat in the area for some time after the session.
We can vary the intensity of the treatment and control the depth that the device delivers the energy. Ranging from 13mm-6mm, we can treat on both, superficial level and a much deeper level for varying results, depending on the individuals’ concerns.
High-intensity focus ultrasound can be used for the following treatment areas, to help lift, tighten, and contour the body:
- Thighs
- Stomach
- Upper arms
- Love handles
- Beneath the buttocks
- Elbows
- Knees
- Bra area fat
Who is the ideal candidate for HIFU Body?
The ideal candidate for HIFU is a person who is mildly above ideal weight who is struggling to shift stubborn pockets of fat. HIFU works very well for sculpting larger areas, and the candidate should be within 10-15kg of their ideal weight range. HIFU is not a weight loss treatment and does not replace the benefits of proper diet and exercise.
We can talk through your concerns when you book in for your free consultation.
How many HIFU treatments will I need?
For body contouring approximately 3 treatments are usually enough for most people; however, some people may need less and some more for best results. Treatments are usually carried out every month. It takes 3 months to see the best results.
Is it painful?
During the treatment you will feel warm pulses of ultrasound energy being delivered deep under the skin, causing the collagen and muscle layers to contract. Some people may find this uncomfortable, but others report no pain with the treatment at all.
Are the results permanent?
HIFU breaks down fat cells permanently and as long as you maintain your weight with normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable.
Are there any side effects and downtime?
Heat levels created by the Ultraformer device are not damaging to the surrounding tissue, as it only targets the treated area. The energy targets the deeper levels of the skin, and not to the upper layers. This means there should be no visible signs on the skin’s surface after the procedure. The only noticeable effects will be tightening.
Some patients may experience slight redness and swelling on the treated areas ranging from a few hours up to a few days. Some may also experience temporary mild bruising and or slight numbness, again this is normal and resolves quickly without any treatment.
The most frequently reported side effects are: swelling, redness, tingling of the skin, tenderness and bruising.
There is no downtime and you can resume to your normal activities straight away following the treatment!
All HIFU body treatments will require a consultation previous to treatment.
Prices are quoted by sessions/time, depending on the size of the area to treat, e.g. thighs will require 2 or 3 sessions (60-90 minutes). Each session is 30 minutes.
